Privacy Policy

Shop Rabbit does not collect, transmit, sell or share any personal data. It has no server, no account system and no analytics.
What the extension can and cannot see
Shop Rabbit requests no access to the websites you visit. Its manifest declares no host permissions and it injects no scripts into web pages, so it cannot read the contents of any page you are on.
When you highlight text and choose a Shop Rabbit entry from the right-click menu, Chrome passes the extension that selected text at that moment, and nothing else. The extension uses it to build a search URL and opens it in a new tab. The text is not stored, logged or sent anywhere by the extension.
What is stored, and where
The extension stores only your own configuration:
- the shops you have added — each one's name and search URL
- which shop is your default
- the country you selected
- whether the other shops are grouped in a submenu
This is saved with Chrome's storage.sync API. In practice that means it is held in your browser and, if you have Chrome Sync enabled, synchronised across your signed-in devices by Google as part of your Chrome profile. That synchronisation is handled by Chrome itself under Google's Privacy Policy — the developer of Shop Rabbit never receives it and has no way to access it. If you use Chrome without signing in, the data never leaves your computer.
You can export your list to a file, or delete everything by removing the extension.
The extension makes no network requests of its own.
Network requests
Shop Rabbit contains no remote code, no externally hosted fonts, stylesheets or libraries, and no tracking of any kind.
The only navigation it causes is the one you asked for: opening a shop's own search results page. Once that page loads, you are on that shop's website and their privacy policy applies, not this one.
Site icons
The settings page shows each shop's icon beside its row. These come from the icon cache Chrome has already built while you browse, read locally through the extension's _favicon/ URLs. No request is made to the shop, and no information about your browsing is exposed to the extension.
Permissions, in plain terms
| Permission | Why it is needed |
|---|---|
| contextMenus | To add the search entries to the right-click menu |
| storage | To save your list of shops and your country |
| favicon | To show each shop's icon in the settings page |
There are no others.
Children
Shop Rabbit is not directed at children and collects no data from anyone, including children.
Changes
If a future version of Shop Rabbit collects or transmits anything, this policy will be updated before that version is published.
